Is My Case Suitable for Public Access- the Initial Enquiry?

Public Access is available for all types of work that barristers can do, except for work that is funded by legal aid.

Upon receipt of your initial enquiry (see below) Michael will review your case requirements and provide his assessment of whether your case is suitable for Public Access, the work that would be required and his availability to complete the work. He will provide you with his initial views typically within 2-3 working days. Sometimes the initial enquiry can take longer if for example Michael needs to obtain further information from you before considering your case.

In some cases, Michael may decide that your case is not suitable for Public Access. This may be because your case is particularly complex, or because the type of work that needs to be done to prepare the case would be difficult for you and may not be able to be done by a barrister. If that occurs, he will inform you. If you wish, he will recommend a suitable solicitor for you to instruct to take your case forward.

If you are not sure whether your case would be suitable for Public Access, you should contact Michael or his chambers and complete an initial enquiry.
